What band uses the Crate Blue Voodoo amp for recording and concerts? Im wanting to know so i can get a good idea of the sounds you can get out of it, im about to purchase it tomorow and i'd like

Anyways, I wouldn't go with crate. The only crate I would ever recommend is the palomino cause it has such great voicing, but the blue voodoo is a poor attempt at a tube amp.

First up today is a Crate Blue VooDoo 120 watt head. A few weeks later, I found my dream Lee Jackson head, so this one has to go. I've played numerous Blue VooDoo's, and they can be hit or miss. Some sound like a bee buzzing around in a tin can, others sound thick, rich, and full. One of them has a scoop in the upper mids, but a nice ultra high end extension. Comes with Groove Tubes, which I believe are the Russian made Sovtek ones. Each ones' high end driver sounds different from the other. This one is definitely of the thick and rich type. It doesn't *need* new tubes, but I'd prefer just a bit more punch out of it. Overall, it is in great shape, with only a few minor scuffs. If I were keeping it, I'd load it with some new JJ power tubes....
