Is the Ddrum AMX Hybrid 4 piece a good kit?

pocket just means that the sizes are a little smaller for the "traveling musician" as they put it, I have never played the kit you mention but ddrum make pretty good stuff if your willing to shell out the money.

I assume you mean DOUBLE BASS works best with two cardioid pattern mics placed about one foot above and one foot below the center of the bass and about one foot out from the front. The BEST mic for recording a grand piano style of piano is a SINGLE RCA RIBBON MIC. The best way to record an acoustic guitar is to use a single omni directional mic about 6 INCHES from the SOUND hole and another CARDIOID mic about 2 feet over the head of performer. you can mic those with EV635s except for the kick drum and that takes a BIG dynamic mic… at least bigger than the 635′s. put some fiberglass or SONAX in it and put the mic in that box with the open end facing the drum face. Drums are DRUMS. and plced on the floor directly in front of the drum face. that is LAUGHABLE for a good mic. Trouble is. you couldn’t TOUCH a Ribbon Mic for $200. like the 77 DX. placed on the floor, directly under the middle of the Piano....
